Tanah

Semasa menziarahi seorang teman beberapa minggu lepas, dia teringat yang dia belum bayar duit saya. Saya tanya duit apa? Katanya duit tanah. Duit tanah?

Saya ni minat tengok telenovela Filipina sejak dua menjak ni. Dalam cerita-cerita tu, ada je orang dementia. Kalau tak hero, heroin yang hilang ingatan dek pelbagai keadaan. Kebanyakannya akibat kemalangan.

Dementia is defined as the serious loss of a person’s ability to think properly. Amnesia, on the other hand, is a condition wherein the memory of a person is lost or disturbed.

Back to the story, saya tertanya-tanya sejak bila saya jual tanah?

Tengah mengelamun tu, kawan saya kata, hari tu kan dia guna tanah saya, belum ganti lagi. Oh..laaa....baru terbayang duit berkepuk hasil jual tanah. Tanah pokok bunga rupanya.

Time is like a sword: if you don't cut it, it cuts you

During college years, my friend and I were among a few other students who managed to be in class early. One day, a lecturer asked my opinion whether she should wait for the other students to come in or just start the lecture. What would I do if I were her? I simply answered, “I don’t wait”.  The lecturer laughed and said, “You know, I used to lock the door against the latecomers”. Then, she began her lecture but of course she was generous enough to not to lock the door.
In our next meeting, the lecturer started her lecture right after she entered the classroom. As usual, there were students who came in late, even after the attendance sheet was passed around and returned to the lecturer.  When the lecturer called it a day, these students approached her and requested to sign the attendance sheet. This was the moment that I liked the most; she ignored their request by saying that it would be unfair to the students who were punctual. Thumbs up!

So, to lecturers, speakers, event organizers, etc, please don’t punish the early comers by dragging the time to start the classes/seminars/events. What you need to do is not to grant the latecomers with something they don’t deserve -: wait and merit.

Video Tribute buat Allahyarham Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat

Lirik Lagu Ungu - Bila Tiba
(Ost. Sang Kyai)

Saat tiba nafas di ujung hela
Mata tinggi tak sanggup bicara
Mulut terkunci tanpa suara

Bila tiba saat berganti dunia
Alam yang sangat jauh berbeda
Siapkah kita menjawab semua
Pertanyaan

Bila nafas akhir berhenti sudah
Jatung hatipun tak berdaya
Hanya menangis tanpa suara
Ooo

Mati tak bisa untuk kau hindari
Tak mungkin bisa engkau lari
Ajalmu pasti menghampiri

Mati tinggal menunggu saat nanti
Kemana kita bisa lari
Kita pastikan mengalami
Mati

Mati tak bisa untuk kau hindari
Tak mungkin bisa engkau lari
Ajalmu pasti menghampiri

Mati tinggal menunggu saat nanti
Kemana kita bisa lari
Kita pastikan mengalami
Mati

Tok Guru yang Mentadbir Sudah Pergi

Semalam, hampir sehari suntuk saya menyaksikan/mendengar youtube mengenai kewafatan Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.
Haji Hadi pun memegang jawatan Menteri Besar Terengganu hanya sekejap iaitu dari 30.11.1999 - 21.03.2004 namun Nik Aziz menjadi Menteri Besar Kelantan selama 23 tahun ( 22 Oktober 1990 - 6 Mei 2013).

So, dapat slip sajalah.  Kena ambil sendiri di Pos Laju.  Anyway, begitulah, pantasnya mereka buat kerja.  Syabas. Tapi, saya perlu memilih Islamic Insurance / Takaful sebab saya orang Islam.  Sayang?  Memanglah sayang, sudah 14 tahun, but I love Islam more.  My priority is Allah and Rasul.  If something that I had, would keep me away from Allah, I don't need it anyway.

Someone to Remember

When I expressed my condolences via FB on Monday,  I didn't know exactly who he was.  I just thought he was an ordinary neighborhood kid whom I never had a chance to meet.  However, when his mother came to my shop yesterday and while photocopying his id card, my mind recalled this boy.  He used to come to my shop and often hung around my husband's shop with his friends.  His mother said, he was her youngest child and a very nice kid.  Now I remember the face.  The form 4-specky boy.  He always smile when I bump into him.  It makes me sad thinking of that as if I lost a near relative.  Al-Fatihah would not be enough for a good kid like him.  So, last night, I recited Surah Yaasin, especially dedicated to him.  May you rest in peace, Ikram and InsyaAllah you will be sent to Jannah. Amin.

Pergi

I was at the entrance of my shop with a customer when this one lady passed by and conveyed a message.  Ok, let's call her KKM i.e. Kakak Kedai Makan.

KKM:  Eh, Apek dah mati.

Me:  Apek mana?  (since there were two apeks in two different grocery shops).  Apek HW ke?

KKM:  aah.  Sakit cancer.  (then walked away)

I remember Haqim gone to HW previously to buy some bread.

Me:  Haqim beli roti tadi bayar dengan sapa?

Haqim:  Dengan Apek.

Me:  Biar betul.  Acik tu cakap Apek dah mati la.  Haqim bayar dengan Kak Ayu ke?

Haqim:  (bosan).  dengan apek la.

Dissatisfied, I went to HW Supermarket.  Terjenguk-jenguk depan pintu.  There he was, Apek HW is still alive.  Rupanya Apek Pasaraya SL yang meninggal.  This time I think we can shoot the messenger.

I called this man, uncle.  A man who rarely smile.  Every time he came to my shop, he told me about his business.  He seemed to live under pressure.  However, not only that, today I  got to know he also suffered  from cancer.  Goodbye uncle.
